My Clive Barker Collection – Retrollection YouTube

youtube logoAs it’s the 29th anniversary of ‘Nightbreed’ I thought I would upload this video which showcases most of my Clive Barker collection.

It covers a range of items from comics to books, films and action figures. I have been an avid fan of Barker’s work since I first came across his fantastic ‘Books of Blood’, which were released in the mid 80’s. So this collection spans some 35 years.

This is also a ‘face reveal’ for me after some years of posting videos from behind the camera.

Jet Set Willy I & II (Software Projects, 1984 & 1985) – REVIEW

Jet Set Willy Title Card

‘Jet Set Willy’ is a platform video game written by Matthew Smith, originally for the ZX Spectrum. Published in 1984 by Software Projects. It was highly successful and ‘ported’ to most 8-bit home computers of the time.

Jet Set Willy II: The Final Frontier is an updated version of the game released in 1985 by Software Projects on the majority of the 8-bit home computers. It was developed by Derrick P. Rowson.

In this review we will be looking at both ‘Jet Set Willy’ and its semi-sequel ‘Jet Set Willy II’ together, as the games are so closely related. ‘Jet Set Willy’ was itself a sequel to the seminal ‘Manic Miner’ published in 1983 and is regarded as an example of a key point in the development of the platform genre.

In pursuit of the ‘Golden Hare’ – RETROSPECTIVE

In pursuit of the Golden Hare Alternative

In 2016 I wrote a retrospective on the wonderful ‘Masquerade’ book by Kit Williams, which sparked an ‘armchair’ treasure hunt phenomena and presents a story that goes well beyond the book itself. However, one thing I really wanted to do was go into the exact detail of the solution to the book.. ..but within the confines of my original blog, I thought it would have be too distracting to the main context of the story and would have made the blog simply too long.

So, in this follow-up retrospective we are going to have a detailed look at the complete solution to ‘Masquerade’.
